Device | TIMEZONES
This page is used to review and edit the timezone configured for the device.
Daylight Savings Time (DST) is the practice of setting the clocks forward one hour from the standard time during the summer months, and then changing the clocks back one-hour during the winter months.
If the device is in a DST region, the dates when the hour is forwarded and reversed can be entered as part of the device configuration whether the device is connected to the Ayla Cloud or not. This ensures device time changes are done automatically.
To ensure the device changes the time, the Ayla Cloud automatically pushes the changeover time to the device twice a year, usually a month or more after the previous change.
Edit configured timezones for the device as follows:
- Click EDIT.
- For Time Zone ID, select the device location in the drop-down list.
- For the DST (Daylight Savings) checkbox:
- Select if the location of the device uses annual Daylight Savings Time schedules.
- Unselect if the location of the device does not use Daylight Savings Time.
- For the DST Active checkbox:
- Select if Daylight Savings Time is active until the next change_time.
- Unselect if Daylight Savings Time is not used in this timezone.
- For DST Next Change Date, enter the date of the Daylight Savings Time.
- For DST Next Change Time, enter the time of the Daylight Savings Time.
- Click UPDATE.
